Up to this point, I’ve restricted ‘On the Contrary’ posts to disco house. Let’s change that. Cherokee is building quite the reputation. 9 months ago, the French house duo churned out one of the best Daft Punk remixes to date. Now they’re back and funkier than ever. Also, big ups to Le Crayon; his remix of memory won the opening slot in Treasure Finger’s latest mix. So much good music has been floating around as of late, it’s as if the summer heat brings out the groovy jams.

Jean Tonique is a 22-year-old nudisco producer based in Paris, France. With shlappin’ bass riffs and Ed Banger inspired kick/snare combos, this kid shakes up a boogie cocktail of filter disco. His newest track, ‘Sunshine Cleaning,’ just dropped last week and has this groovy Jackson 5 meets funky Breakbot feel.
