Yes the rumors are substantiated, you’ve been wondering for weeks and well, it’s true, I’m back to C+A+D! Glad to be back after playing a few cool shows and booking some of my favorite artists here in Santa Cruz, but truth be told I love sharing my music too much, and glad to be back at it. Without further ado……..here’s the music.

If you’re not caught up with this guy or his bromantical angry-techno counterpart Gesaffelstein, get out from that rock homie. These guys owned Hard Cruise together, and their stateside tour stop in S.F. was one of the best sets I’ve seen. Ever.
Gesaffelstein – Viol (Brodinski Remix)

Can’t stop playing this noise maker from Italian up and comer Supabeatz. I get asked what this track is after I play it out more than any other, keep up with him and his pal Keith, they often team up with absolute bangers to offer.
The 2 Bears – Work (Supabeatz Remix)

This E.P. was the second release from Lucky Beard Records, started by Phra of Crookers. Honestly slept on this remix, but this is just the jam right now.
Donovans & Maelstrom – I Need (Cookie Snap Remix)

Lastly this comes from the latest offering of the always eclectic Mumbai Science. This is their second EP in their ‘Unified Theory’ trilogy, with the third EP set to come out in early March. Keeps your ears open for that, and grab this sweet, dancy groove in the mean time.
Mumbai Science – Reality

Got some cool stuff lined up for the next few weeks guys. As always, buy the music and wear good headphones!

Loving everything about Tommy Trash lately. Dirty synths, huge output of tracks, quality remixes, and a signature sound that’s all his own. This Londoner has been getting some epic love lately in the dj community, and he’s got a slew of new originals on the way this month. Grab the tracks below, head to his soundcloud, and crank your speakers.
Tommy Trash – Future Folk
Bass Kleph & Chris Arnott – We Feel Love (Tommy Trash Remix)
Moby – After (Tommy Trash Remix)

Love me some Haezer, and this album is insane, one of the best to come out lately, check the album here.
You Killing Me – Can’t Stop (Haezer Remix)

Rad mashup (yes there’s such a thing) of a killer track off of Crookers’ new c.d., and a lesser known but equally as bassy track called Na Ciphra from Italy’s Lazy Ants. The Crookers album is still blowin’ my mind after 20 or so full length listens, and this mash KILLS it.
Bust ‘Em Up vs. Na Ciphra (Fatboy Slim Mashup).mp3

Saw this get dropped live a few weeks back, the Sex Cult family is definitely making some moves as of late. Black Matter is stepping up his production for new, long-awaited originals, but these guys are the true gems of the label.
Your Dirty Habit – How Hard

Have a spooktacular night >:)

Lots of fat new releases lately, don’t know whats in the water but some great electro albums have been coming out both here in America and abroad. I got my hands on a few new tracks that are not leaving my playlists anytime soon, the biggest surprise has been the Dutch duo Baskerville. They just released an album with Henzel and Disco Nova that’s incredible, and Devil’s Town has been a mainstay in my sets for a long time. If you’re feeling the track below, head to their beatport and grab the album, the Dem Slackers remix is killer as well.

Baskerville vs. Henzel & Disco Nova – Gimmie 5

This track has been blazing in my head lately. The two brothers from L.A. known as Casino Gold have been on a roll, their track Taurine has been supported by some huge names, and is coming out on Bronson Records in November…..a track that I simply cannot wait for.

Sound of Stereo – Latland (Casino Gold Remix)

Modek has been on an equal tear as of late, his song output and production skills remain to be one of my absolute favorites in EDM, his new album By The Pool is pretty sick, but his remixes he’s been pushing out are phenominal. Enjoy.

Malente & Zero Cash – I’ll Be There (Modek Remix)

I <3 Sharooz. Moby – One Time We Lived (Sharooz Remix)

Wear good headphones and support the music!

This weekend I got a very special chance to see one of my favorite producers of all time, Style of Eye, come to town and destroy Motiv here in Santa Cruz. He played the main SF weekly at EPR the night before, and went onto Control at Avalon in Hollywood and to Voyeur in San Diego the next two nights, and I was incredibly stoked to not have to make the drive to any of those places, but instead got to see him in front of 200 other like minded nut-jobs and witnessed him bang the fuck out on 3 cdj’s (yes, he made extensive use of all three). It’s no secret that I have a musical boner for this guy, his Wet/Dry e.p. totally brought me back to life and it’s been in my sets for days now, and his track ‘We Are Boys’ has garnered support from some of the biggest dj’s in the world. I love this guy not only because he’s basically Jesus for Tech House (and a super friendly dude, bonus points), but his track output is unlike any other dj anywhere, both in varied styles and overall quantity. Take a look at my past Thursday…

He dropped a track that’s coming out on Crookers’ new album that they collaborated together on, a bit goofy, a bit creepy, all fun :) Here’s a rip from Tiesto’s latest club life where it was featured.

I’m just a damn fan of this guy. The playful style, immaculate production, and the sheer talent he possesses make him one of the best in the biz says I. If you so choose to head over to his beatport your ears will thank you.

Loving me some Gooffee right now. I was first turned onto them by a track of their’s called “Flow” that was remixed by Torro Torro. Since then, I’ve been too excited about these guys. They’re atitude about their music, the swanky tunes, and the the gooffee-ness. Fortunately enough I got to shoot then a few questions online, and they came back with this lil guy. Enjoy!

Pretty rad guys. They’re new e.p. just came out, and it’s 100% free. Its got some killer moombahton and electro, and a few things I’m having trouble quantifying…..it’s all worth a dl tho, so hit that download button like there’s no tomorrow.

Towards the end of the interview they talk about this video, best music vid I’ve seen in a long time, honestly.

Groovy new tune from the man himself, he’s been on a tear lately with new stuff, so I can see why he’d opt for a mellow, 90’s style tune. Great little vibe, cool percs and a little unease/darkness mixed in, and I know one of those claps I used like 8 years ago in fl studio. I can dig it.
Boys Noize – Adonis

I just love zombie nation.
Zombie Nation – Day of Many

I’ve been slowing this one down on my moombah nights, if you have any sort of dj software(or just pirate a copy of virtual dj) slow it down for a new flavor on this lil guy. The production is so well put together, I’d be down to see more remixes between these guys.
Zombie Nation – Seas of Grease (Harvard Bass remix)

Modek!! This is a great ep, check out the rest of the remixes and the original here. This one’s my fav. jam of the record.
VNNR – What (Modek Remix)

Until now Porter Robinson has been considered a prodigy of sorts in regards to his production skills, and overall approach to his music. Over the past year or so, he’s grown into his role of full on touring dj, touring in the vein of world class djs all over the world, and at some of the bigger festivals(he transformed the Neon Garden sidestage into the mainstage on Saturday at E.D.C. Vegas). All the while working on remixes and refining a signature trance/electro/house sound that have earned almost unanimous rave reviews, name drops aren’t even needed at this point.

This E.P. was his answer to maybe the only voice doubting him, the one in his head. It comprises of six tracks, dripping with a new simplicity, yet still retaining that heavy sound we all know and love and associate with P.R. But you’ll find it doesn’t rely only on his own heavy-electro feel, he piles in the prog-house, trance lines, and throws down hard on two dubstep tracks.

The individual songs are good, not great. His effort to explore different sounds seemed to make him more focused on only the production aspect of things, rather than track structure(my favorite track of the e.p., Seconds, takes three minutes to drop). The dub tracks he nails down says I, but there’s too many random suprises throughout the other songs (not to mention exploring three different “genres”)that give it a level of inconsistency, something terribly important in an e.p. or album release. I have to say I’m ok with branching out with new sounds to find your voice, this record is def. party music and bet on hearing these tracks played out with a slew of remixes about to come down on our heads, I just hope the next release is a little more Porter.

Head here to pick up a copy, all in all, the remixes balance is out and make it a killer first release.
