Lido and Club Cheval‘s Canblaster teamed up to release modular heavy EP Superspeed. It is a 6 track feature of the future of electronic sounds. Both artists’ influences can be heard throughout, and they meld perfectly. When ‘Rush Hour’ was pre-featured, we knew the continued collaboration between these two would lead to something impressive.

One of the reasons we love boutique collectives is their structure gives each artist the freedom to create forward thinking sounds under a loose canopy of similarity. Carefullly chaotic cuts and choppy sampling tied into melodic rhythms shadowed by gamey, anime style is where shy guy collective Pure Aesthete thrives.

2015’s Volume One compilation showcases their roster’s wide ranging capabilities well. It has soundtracked our world in cel shading. Keep an ear on these guys; they’re changing the cyberspace sound scene.

In the realm of female producers, Alison Wonderland holds her own as one of the more badass girls in the game. With a rather prolific career learnt from a background in classical, a coming of age in rock, a solo move to DJing in front of thousands, and an extremely anticipated vocal-featured LP on the way, she’s more than earned her place on this lineup.

Australia can already attest to her high-energy sets (we had major FOMO during the Wonderland Warehouse Project). But having seen her at a secret house party in LA, we can say that she puts a very exacting effort into keeping the room alive. And that was just a house party. The Athletixx collective has been on the come up since they united in July. Crewed by Hoodboi, Falcons, Kittens, and Promnite, the collective has been gaining much respect for refreshing LA’s club scene. This Friday (1|30), we’ll have two out of four getting at it for our WAVS series. Support will be coming in from FVSF and B.I.B.L.E.

Athletixx’s All-Stars Mixtape featured tons of previously unreleased works. Expect to hear some new heat come Friday. Seeing this label live is low-key (but actually very high-key) something we’ve been looking forward to. Come get down with us!
