Brighton by way of Brisbane garage rock outfit Animal House released ‘Figure It Out’ last month. And as luck would have it, we stumbled upon them right on time cause now we’ve finally got scratchy guitars and a youthfully raw energy to help us exercise our reckless abandon in the coming wanton summer.

There’s a new tour on the horizon and it is closing in on San Diego. OASIS is a monthly series that runs through all of summer. They will be calling SILO in Makers Quarter their home. The first installment is on Friday 6|13 and features co-headliners The Gaslamp Killer and Oliver. Other talent for the night includes Penguin Prison, Moving Units, JackLNDN, Dadon, and Jimbo James.

The event starts at 6pm so expect to hear lots of good music from all across the spectrum alongside some healthy cuisine and craft brews and spirits. We’ve got 2 tickets to giveaway too!

Hotel Garuda is Manila Killa and Candle Weather. Together, they have created an all encompassing future-house and bass sound that draws its uniqueness from their own solo works (Moving Castle and Weather Tapes, respectively) to stand out from the masses now chasing the growing “future” genre. It is quite refreshing; hearing their music amidst the Redwoods will be most surreal.

Lightning In A Bottle

Last year, we named Lightning in a Bottle the best camp-out festival we’ve been to. And we’re sticking to it this year. First things first: ravines are cool and all, but the high-five bridges saved our legs for the dancing. Second: water and port-a-parties aplenty. Third: the lineup. LIB consistently brings the best. Lastly: we brought the extended fest family out this year, and it seems like everyone else did too. No matter, the larger tribe only added to the loving vibes. There is something about the energy and love shared between attendees at this festival that is unlike anywhere else. Co-Founder Dede Flemming was right, LIB’s intimacy comes from the lovely souls who hear the Do Lab’s call.

We’ve no shame in saying that we’re seeing FKJ twice in one week. First at LIB then again at Sound thanks to the Ouija Entertainment and L’Affaire Musicale crews. To top it off, the soulful future pop sounds of Prince Fox will be a welcome change of style from what we’ve been hearing recently.

Golf Clap, Shoe Scene Symphony, and SamBRNS & Joelatthedisco (b2b) will mix the beginning of the night with deeper and future stylings. Come through!

Lightning in a Bottle wouldn’t be Lightning in a Bottle without the heavy tremble of bass music. Our final preview before making the journey to Bradley pays homage to this fact. It also pays homage to G Jones‘s rise through the ranks of bass technicians. His after-hours Drift set last year was so good that he’s become a regular at DoLab events. We’re proud of him.

He mixes beats, hip-hop, grime, trap, ethnic and dark bass to create a soundscape that’s hard to replicate. Come dance with us as he tears up the Big Fish Thunder Stage on Saturday at 8pm – prime time hour for things to get a whole lot weirder and a whole lot more fun.
