With Flume’s upcoming mixtape release, he continues to push himself towards larger, broader horizons. After the free B.I.G. Flume mixtape that was done by one of Flume’s fans, the only logical next move was to garner hip hop collaborations of epic proportions. Right? I mean cutting raps and lyrics on Flume’s beats are like pizza and ranch. No? Sriracha and pho. Still? Fine…pb&j.

He’s released two tracks so far to hold us off. First a revamp of the classic ‘Holdin’ On’ with Freddie “Gangsta” Gibbs. Gibbs’ rhymes are one of my favorites in the game right now, so seeing these two come together is a dream come true. And second, released today, the intro track with Stalley; an orchestral masterpiece that flows like the Mississippi. The full mixtape will be released on October 18th. Flume | Buy Self Titled

It’s been awhile since we’ve done an interview, because we only do it with artists we truly believe in. Artists that step off the beaten path and create something universal. A sound that anyone with an open mind can appreciate. As you can imagine these artists are few and far between. Harley Streten (AKA Flume) took a minute to catch up with us while in the midst of a tour ping-ponging across the U.S. Check after the jump about his new life as a Platinum selling recording artist.

Flume, (aka Harley Streten), has been making a significant impression with his lush brand of electronica-infused, avant-garde style. On November 9th Flume will release his debut self-titled album (which you can preview HERE or below). The 15-track LP will be released on the renowned disco/house label, Future Classic.
