If you’ve been keeping up with us over the past 8 years, our love for French Touch and disco is no secret. Something in the water in France is enabling producers to churn out the funkiest, danciest tunes the world has to offer. The French flavor got a little bit more interesting over the past couple years as a result of the union between Polocorp and DJ Peter Pan to form: POLO & PAN.

With a genre dubbed “Space Jungle,” you know that I am IN. They use these tribal and elemental sounds mixed with a futuristic and airy touch which comes together in an eclectic way I’ve never heard before. They also dabble in circus music samples that just adds to their weirdness which I can’t get enough of.

The show itself had all the aspects of a perfect 2 person live show. 4 CDJS (2 each), a mixer, 2 keyboards, and 2 mics. They would switch off between mixing, playing the keyboard, and singing. Simple. Effective. Elegant. They couldn’t have had a better crowd either (see video below). The show sold out almost instantly so all the passionate fans were ready to give them love and were properly warmed up thanks to nu-disco behemout Jean Tonique, who I also had been dying to see. You better keep an eye on these guys, because big things are guaranteed in their future. They’ll be back to SF for Treasure Island Music Festival in October!!

Lido and Club Cheval‘s Canblaster teamed up to release modular heavy EP Superspeed. It is a 6 track feature of the future of electronic sounds. Both artists’ influences can be heard throughout, and they meld perfectly. When ‘Rush Hour’ was pre-featured, we knew the continued collaboration between these two would lead to something impressive.

Were we wrong? Stream the EP below and support the future. Check out the ‘Making of’ video to see how they did it.

Back in 2008, Mac Stanton started So French Records. Just last year, he (rightfully) earned heaps of Internet attention with his smash remix of “Lose Yourself to Dance.” Since then, he’s engineered incredible remixes of Danger, Kavinsky, Soul Machine, and the like. We here at C+A+D revel in french disco, therefore it was only natural for us to reach out. He blessed us with an exclusive mixtape. 11 tracks, 50 minutes of Mac Stanton’s unmistakable “ow ow ow.”

Lots of unreleased material here:

Darius | Soundcloud

This morning, Majestic Casual got premiering rights for Darius’s new remix of Bondax. Lucky bastards. Ever since Terence put Cherokee on the backburner, he’s consistently given French House aficionados music to drool over. His productions always manage to mentally take you away from where you are; they just simply put you at ease. This release is no different. Combine the textbook Darius funk with Bondax’s soulful vocal choice, and you got yourself a song of the summer. Check it out below along with some extra essentials after the jump.

Bondax – All I See (Darius Remix)

Darius – Hot Hands

Daft Punk – Something About Us (Cherokee Remix)

Darius – Vanyll

Darius | Soundcloud

Every once and awhile I’ll hear a song that puts me at absolute peace. It will be a song that reminds me of just how powerful music can be; emotionally, physically, inspirationally. It’s a feeling that I only can imagine is comparable to being in a complete meditative state. Simply being one with your existence. It sounds extreme, but I’m positive everybody hears a song that makes them feel like this at least once.

Recently for me, that song was Darius’ remix of Crayon’s “Give You Up” (released on Yuksek’s record label Partyfine). I was hooked. It only made sense when I found out he was half of C+A+D Favorite Cherokee. The smooth synths and airy vocals give it this dreamy feel that gets me every time I listen to it. Though I can comfortably say that track is the pinnacle of Darius’ solo career so far, every track on his soundcloud has something special to offer.

Both EDC and Coachella are sold out. Slowly, the scene continues to drown under a dogpile of dubstep worshipping fratheads and camera toting, half naked, facebook-beezies. Let me tell you, there was once a time when loud, bass n’ rage bangers were the thing, but those days have long passed. As the summer quickly approaches, the real kids get ready to disco.
