As you all know, Shook’s disco funk holds a special place in our hearts. Since the release of his dance floor friendly self-titled, he’d been relatively quiet. That is until chilled out baby-maker ‘Violet Hues’ was pushed out in late June. Follow up: ‘New Horizons’ came out today and it breaches a similarly relaxing spectrum. The funk guitar sets the mood so well.

To the keen eye, Shook’s cover photo has left white space that hints at a 3rd in this series. Judging from what is filled in, we can expect the new track to continue with this morning-friendly, mellowed out style we’re hearing. We can’t wait.

Cherokee is building quite the reputation. 9 months ago, the French house duo churned out one of the best Daft Punk remixes to date. Now they’re back and funkier than ever. Also, big ups to Le Crayon; his remix of memory won the opening slot in Treasure Finger’s latest mix. So much good music has been floating around as of late, it’s as if the summer heat brings out the groovy jams.

Both EDC and Coachella are sold out. Slowly, the scene continues to drown under a dogpile of dubstep worshipping fratheads and camera toting, half naked, facebook-beezies.
