Marian Hill is a duo out of Philadelphia; they are joined live by a bassist/saxist. We had the privilege of catching them at School Night and were immediately addicted. Jeremy Lloyd controlled the sway with finger-tapped drums and samples on an MPK49. Steve Davit had the room swooning to jazzy saxophone and bass. Samantha Gongol’s bewitching, bluesy voice and seductive movements hypnotized the crowd.

You’ll find hints of jazz, disco, funk, indie, soul, pop, and house all throughout their music. Their 2013 album Chrome Waves is one of my favourites.
