Kill FrenzyTickets

When I started C+A+D I wanted to prove not only to myself but to everyone that if you started from scratch on anything and worked hard enough for long enough you could live your dream. I’m nowhere near where I want to be but I’m a hell of a lot further and wiser ONLY because I started 5 years ago. This Friday, we’re celebrating your continued support with some good ol’ fashioned booty-bass from Dirtybird‘s own Kill Frenzy. There’s nothing quite like a bit of backside grooving as testament to our growing youth.

Come celebrate our birth alongside the homies at Focus, Bones, Burn Unit, and Best Ghost. Trust us, things are going to get real wild.

HOW TO ENTER

Standard procedure. The contest ends at 12PM Friday, June 26th!

Since 2009, Berlin-based duo Tale of Us has been creating top-shelf minimal techno that Germany is so well known for. They had an absolutely killer essential mix appearance at the beginning of the year. Similar to “deep house” last year, this year in electronic music is looking to be the rise of the “underground” and Tale of Us is definitely in the lead pack.

We caught them at APEX LA last year, and we can firmly say they’ll be taking us to another world in the Yuma tent come Saturday. Find us under the shark coated in purple hues.

Caribou – Can’t Do Without You (Tale of Us & Mano Le Tough Remix)

Thugfucker – Disco Gnome (Tale of Us Remix)

This installment of Latest and Greatest is devoted to our friends down by the Ecuator. The talent circulating down south has been consistently impressive. For the past year or so, they’ve experienced an influx of dark tech and if you haven’t already noticed: that’s my favourite electronic style.

Pompeya – Does [The Twelves Remix]

Though not quite dark and techy, a post about Brasil’s electronic scene without a mention of The Twelves is sacrilege. These two have oft been compared to Daft Punk – and for good reason. Here’s their newest funker.

Pompeya – Does (The Twelves Remix)

Malik Mustache – G My Humps

How can you not enjoy a basic club shot taken to new levels? Malik Mustache adds house and tech style to this 2005 hit and takes G-house into the future. G-Future.

Malik Mustache – G My Humps

Ishimaru – Fu-King EP

The newest EP from Ishimaru features his single Fu-King and remixes by Krash and Sound Cloup. It is dark, hard, and angry techno for the electro G inside us all.

Fractal System – Need You Tonight

Fractal System takes INXS’ 80’s dance-pop classic and adds that Brasil sound. This track is dark, funky, and bassy; and with that famed guitar riff, we definitely need it.

The summer festival circuit is drawing to a close and we’ve just a few adventures left ahead of us [Burning Man, anyone?]. This Saturday’s festivities present themselves as exotic locales in preparation for the playa. The Crosstown Rebels will be helping us gather our senses. Or rather, get lost in them. Known for their worldly, hypnotic, tech house, the Rebel crew will be joined live by the famed Below‘s underground resident Subb-an to transform the courtyard at LA’s Egyptian Theatre into a revelation of sound for the sun and spirits.

All of this shapes to be a gathering for anybody interested in a glimpse of the wildly expressive Black Rock Community. Luckily for you, we’ve got two [2] free tickets to give away. Come help us verify our claims and lets send some burners off with a fresh spark.

HOW TO ENTER

Standard procedure: The contest ends at 10PM Thursday August 21st! The more ways you enter below, the better your chance is to win. Be sure to be ready to check your e-mail/twitter, because we’ll be giving it to the first person who responds when the contest is over. See you guys there!

It was seemingly yesterday that we celebrated USA…and now we’re already upon Christmas. Or so it would seem. There might not be snow falling from the sky (like there ever is in Long Beach anyway), but that doesn’t mean you can’t break out your Santa hats for another round of themed triple-decker boat fun and sunset sprays this coming July 26th.

The jolly tunes this time will be provided by Summertime staple Viceroy, the always lovely Jessie Andrews, GDD residents Bones and Troy Kurtz, Wilks and more primo talent we’ve seen making waves in the LA scene. One special addition (it’s quite a present indeed) to this installment is the after party aboard the Queen Mary. From past experience, nobody is quite ready for the night to end once docked. This time around there won’t be silly drivers doing silly things. Stay afloat awhile longer with tunes curated by our friends in GDD, Take2En, and a Super Duper Secret Special Guest. Still can’t muster the courage to take to the streets? Hang out for the sleepover; just call 877.342.0742 for rooms!
