The Gaslamp Killer – Boiler Room London

The Moony Habits crew has been slowly, but surely, making headway in the LA underground. With 3 shows already logged, Moony Habits is making quite the name for itself. This Thursday, they’re shaking it up again with Rhythm and Bass style that’s rather different from LA’s typical hip-hop and beats scene. Sans one DJ set, every act will be performing LIVE.

Soulection’s Chris McClenney with bring his whole band as he tickles the ivories; StarRo will have vocal support from Gavin Turek, Jarell Perry, Iman Europe, Lindsay Olsen as well as special guest drummer, David Myers Jr.; Moony Habits veteran Mike Gao will be performing his all new Polyplayground set; and A Sol Mechanic will perform live alongside a special secret guest. Astronautica will also be present to DJ the way she does (very well on the beats). Kuro will be playing the changeovers. Come prepared with your night-souls because things are going to get romantic.

Ouija Entertainment and L’Affaire Musicale return to the Standard LA for another installment of Wicked Paradise. And with this line up, it’s looking to be a rather raunchy dance party. Dirtybird‘s Kill Frenzy and Friend Within will be headlining the event with their heavy bass and UK garage house sounds. Both of these producers have solidified themselves as trusted producers in the bass and underground scene.

Support from RISLabs lead Eric Sharp, Crown Ruff, Wilks, Justin Cornwall, and L’Affaire’s own Astley will get the party started off right. Come through early cause, with all this talent tearing up the LA skyline, it’s going to get packed.

LA’s premier music festival, HARD, is coming up this weekend and it boasts one of the better lineups we’ve seen this season. (Sunday Funday anyone?) To help kick off the party early, we’ll be hosting a HSMF pre-party. Headlining the night will be Light Year whose genre blending style still holds a place in our hearts; his HARD 2012 set was something else.

The homie Bones, RYME, and Graff will be providing support for the night. Special guests will be rolling through as well to help keep the moods going. It’s going to be a big night. See you there and again at HARD!

This installment of WAVS will highlight his skill in skirting those lines. His mixing is always done live and flows to the mood of the crowd, so don’t expect any cookie cutter stylizations. Locals PrettyBoyPaul and Torosbros will lead off this foray into house music.

His knowledge of all things music has allowed him to lead the famous Stones Throw Records – responsible for some of the better releases of our age.
